KSTA FLAYS CABINET DECISIONS

..The UDF government decided to issue NOC for 540 new CBSE/ICSE schools in the state. This was announced by chief minister Umman chandy after the cabinet meeting. With this decision, the UDF government made clear about their stand on education policy. There is a plot behind this decision with the congress and educational lobbies to scuttle the government/aided sector. This is the first time in the history of kerala issuing such a large number NOC’s to CBSE schools at a stretch. Already Kerala has the highest number of unaided schools in the country with more than 800 CBSE schools. There are 12323 schools in the state including these unaided schools. These schools are enough to cater the need to educate 50 lakh children. kstaBut incidentally only 45 lakh students are studying.2000 unrecognized unaided schools are presently working in the state. The UDF government now decided to issue NOC to 540 schools from this list. This will pose a threat to government/aided schools. The Congress party’s policy of commercialization of education is now come open with the decision to sanction new CBSE schools. Community interests are also there behind this decision .KSTA,a protector of general education in the state ,will oppose any move to harm government/aided schools. We warn the government that withdraws the decision to issue NOC for CBSE schools. Otherwise it has to face strong agitations in the coming days. We appeal all teachers to join the agitation against the undemocratic act of UDF government to sanction new CBSE schools in the state.
